The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed concerning the superior range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some higher variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office devoted to service the area daily. The provider stage created for intervention activities a higher inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it tough for your office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to empower the servicing of all consumers and increase use of Social here Assistance providers,” the agency said.
